Environmental Justice Media

Create editorial media projects that inform, amplify, & educate the public on environmental justice issues. This initiative could include education on local plants, waterways, and flood mitigation strategies; deep dives into how urban planning can either combat or perpetuate environmental racism; and / or engaging journalism projects that bring these stories to life.

A transparent RFP process will guide how proposals are collected and funds granted, ensuring community-driven creativity and accountability.

With only $500,000 available, addressing environmental racism in its entirety is a challenge. This project maximizes impact by leveraging the media as a force for change. By elevating critical conversations and community voices, these efforts will drive awareness, influence policy, and empower residents to take informed action on environmental justice.

This project would provide the area with much-needed media owing to the apartheid media system that is rampant in the United States. Through this work, stories that matter will be told by and for the people who live them.

This project centers communities most affected by environmental racism, equipping them with vital knowledge and tools for advocacy. It also aims to educate policymakers, stakeholders, and the broader public.
