Read, Reflect, Rise: Culturally Responsive Literacy and Mental Health Support for Students of Color
LOCATION:
Program will have several subgroups in the Schools and community based orgz of little lemon.
2 middle schools, 1 high school, and one community center that is frequented by local Little Lemon families
WHAT:
Our initiative will integrate trauma-informed care with culturally relevant literacy strategies to promote both healing and academic growth. Through strategic partnerships with schools, families, and community-based organizations, we will equip trusted adults with the tools needed to foster safe, empowering learning environments. With investment and collaboration, this work will build a foundation for resilient, thriving youth and stronger communities.
WHY:
This proposal addresses the intertwined challenges of mental health and literacy disparities facing students of color. Many students of color navigate educational systems without adequate access to culturally affirming support, resulting in unmet emotional.
