Community gardening and life-skill buildling
Community organizations receive funding to host gardening events where individuals can grow their fruits, vegetables, or flowers. This can help encourage individuals to be outside, build connections with each other, and be somatically therapeutic to be grounded in their surroundings. This can be beneficial to one's mental health because of the amount of sun they are getting (Vitamin D), the act of nurturing something can increase a sense of responsibility and purpose, and being with people.
