Mental Health Bench

This project will bring a permanent bench and a community cookout at an (existing) central community garden. The bench, along with the community cookout will be a center point of a larger educational initiative in Little Horse on the importance of taking care of one’s mental health and the resources available in the community.

For accessibility, we want to ensure the bench and educational initiatives are located in areas which are physically accessible (ADA compliant).

The education campaign will focus on individuals living under or just above the poverty line and it will host three (3) events like the cookout to create a sense of community & provide free mental health educational materials.

This idea was inspired by a similar project in another town. This was chosen to become a proposal based on the opportunity to partner this project with an educational component.

The project addresses the mental health needs Little Horse has had after the pandemic, and will benefit the entire community & those living under or just above the poverty line. If this project wins, we will seek an organization that would like to continue hosting the educational events after the funding for this project runs out in 2026.

This project will be located at an existing community garden at a central location in Little Horse
